ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus is disclosed for removing a yarn wrap from a revolving draw roll by melting. The apparatus comprises at least three cutting probes rotatably mounted about a common axis on a stationary frame. The cutting probes are spaced about the axis such that the distance from the inner surface of each probe to the axis is fractionally greater than the radius of the revolving roll thus providing an open space between the cutting probes which allows the probes to fit over the roll in sliding engagement therewith. The cutting probes are adapted to be heated to a temperature above the melting point of the yarn wrap on the revolving roll before being applied to the roll to remove the yarn wrap.
