A yellow dental alloy for cast parts and ceramic facings, with an appropriate coefficient of thermal expansion, which causes no discolouration of the ceramic facings, and which is very hard. The alloy comprises, in weight percent 70 to 85 gold, 5 to 13 silver, 2 to 9 platinum, 0 to 4.5 palladium, 0.05 to 1 iridium, rhenium, rhodium, an/or ruthenium, 2 to 8 copper, 0.1 to 6 of one or more metals such as indium, zinc, and germanium, and 0 to 4 of one or more of the metals gallium, iron, and tungsten.
