A foam padding accessory adapted to be releasably attached to the central region of a conventional canoe yoke. The yoke foam padding consists of a foam pad and a sheet material cover, both being shaped such that the pad extends along the flat side of the central region of a wooden yoke while the cover holds it in place. The padding of the present invention provides greater comfort to persons engaged in the act of portaging said canoe by cushioning the canoes weight over the user's shoulder area.
