-12- ZEOLITE ACTIVATION PROCESS Abstract of the Disclosure The activity of a zeolite catalyst is enhanced by forming the catalyst into a composite with a binder such as alumina and steaming the composite. The zeolites have a Constraint Index of 1 to 12 and a silica:alumina ratio of at least 12 and ZSM-5 is preferred. The enhancement of the activity is greatest at the high silica:alumina ratio, especially at ratios above 1200.
