NOVEL ZEOLITE COMPOSITIONS AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING SAME Highly siliceous crystalline zeolitic molecular sieve compositions, having pore diameters of approxi- mately 6 Angstroms, are prepared hydrothermally from reaction mixtures free of organic cations. These novel zeolites can be distinguished from all other zeolites on the basis of certain infrared spectral characteristics and have hydrophobic/organophilic properties which per- mit their use in selectively adsorbing organic materials from water, either in liquid or in vapor phase.
