ABSTRACT HIGH TEMPERATURE ZEOLITE L PREPARATION Zeolite L may be prepared from a crystallization gel comprising (in mole ratios of oxides): K2O/SiO2 0.24 - 0.35 H2O/K2O 35 - 80 SiO2/Al2O3 5.7 - 7.8 at a crystallization temperature above 200°C. Cylindrical forms of zeolite L may be formed which can be used as a catalyst base in aromatization of acyclic hydrocarbons with high benzene yields being sustained over commercially feasible periods.
