A metal nanodot material is formed by ion-exchange of a solution comprising metal ions and a chabazite type zeolite, followed by activation to the metallic nanodots on the surface of the chabazite type zeolite. The metal nanodot is one of silver, nickel, copper, gold or a platinum group metal.
