ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a process for manufactur- ing a zipper in which mutually engaging closing member rows are formed of a continuous filament in which process the filament is positioned on the circumference of a setting gear wheel utilizing its teeth and tooth intervals, in the shape of a flattened spiral or like shape, and locking tappets are formed in sharp bends of the filament spiral of each closing member row, said locking tappets being produced by urging the filament with a striker substantially in an axial direction of the setting gear wheel against a stop to assume substantially a V shape, said V shape being immediately pushed with a pusher into a tooth interval of the setting gear wheel.
