An automobile assembly line that improves static function quality at each functional zone and also improves the production efficiency is disclosed. The automobile assembly line comprises a plurality of assembly lines. Each assembly line is divided into plurality of functional zones, such as, for example, functional zones A - D. At the end of each functional zone A - D, there is an inspection process zone for static inspection and light repairs. Each of these inspection process zones are equipped with a data entry and computer display system for the input of data corresponding to the countermeasures performed and repairs not completed for the problem items or defects which were incurred and/or identified in a particular functional zone. This data input and display system is also connected to the display system of the other functional zones in the instant and other assembly lines, as well as other production-related departments of the automobile assembly line. Counter-measures to defects identified, such as functional defects and production defects (such as delayed parts shipment) can be remedied or their impact on the remainder of the assembly lines reduced.
