Ionically cross-linked silicone polymers of a thickened gel-like consistency are made by reacting a diamino containing polysiloxane with an acid containing reactant selected from itaconic acid or the ester derivative thereof; substituted or unsubstituted cyclic and ankydride; substituted or unsubstituted conjugated olefinic acid or mixtures of the same at an elevated temperature in the presence of a low molecular weight silicone oil or other solvent until an ionically cross-linked zwitterionic siloxane polymer of a gel- like consistency is formed.

L'invention concerne des polymères de silicone ioniquement réticulés de consistance gélatineuse épaissie. On obtient ces polymères par réaction d'un diamino contenant du polysiloxane avec un acide contenant un réactif choisi parmi un acide itaconique ou un dérivé estérique dudit acide, un anhydride d'acide cyclique substitué ou non substitué, un acide oléfinique conjugué substitué ou non substitué ou des mélanges desdits composés à une température élevée et en présence d'une huile de silicone de faible poids moléculaire ou d'un autre solvant jusqu'à la formation d'un polymère de siloxane zwittérionique réticulé de consistance gélatineuse.
