ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to novel polymers which comprises repeating units derived from hydantoin vinyl ethers of the formula Image in which R1 is hydrogen or an organic radical, R2 is an alkylene group, and R3 and R4 are preferably lower alkylene groups, and optionally repeating units from one or two co- components derived from other olefinically unsaturated com- pounds. The novel polymers can be used as thickeners, solu- bilising agents, binders, thixotropic agents, complexing agents, stabilisers and so forth.
