ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel biphenyl ethers of the formula Image wherein Rl, R2 and R3 are each H or CH3; R4 is H, F, Cl, Br or CF3; when R2 = R3 = H, Z is piperidino or morpholino each of which is monosubstituted or polysubstituted by alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms, and when R2 - CH3, Z is morpholino, pyrrolidino, homopiperidino or piperidino which is unsubstituted or mono- æubstituted or polysubstituted by alXyl of 1-4 carhon atoms or by hydroxyl; and particularly wherein Rl is H, F, Cl, Br or CF3; and Z is pyrrolidino, homopiperidino or piperidino which is unsubstituted or monosubstituted or polysab- stituted by alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms or by hydroxyl; and their physiologically acceptably acid addition salts are prsvided herein. They exhibit pharmaceutically useful serum cholesterol and triglyceride lowering. fibrinolytic, thermbocyr aggregation inhibition .beta.-receptor blocking and neuroleptic effects.
