Abstract of the Disclosure Novel derivatives of penniclavine are described herein together with the processes for preparing them. The 9-ergolene derivatives are prepared from D-6-methyl- 8-hydroxymethyl-10.alpha.-methoxy-8-ergolenes. All of the final products have potent prolactin inhibiting activity.
