ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is provided for cleaning chips off a workpiece mounted on a workpiece holder which comprises the steps of: (a) applying a stream of liquid to the workpiece to wash chips off the workpiece; and (b) applying a stream of gas to the workpiece to remove the liquid therefrom, the method has particular applicability in automated machining centers which can be operated unattended and unwatched for an entire shift.
