ABSTRACT A seal of the padlock type having a body and a shackle formed of a single piece of injection molded plastic, with the shackle being securely attached to the body at one end and attached to the body at the other end by a thin web that is readily broken. Said other end is positioned adjacent an opening in the body, said opening and said other end having means for locking engagement when said other end is inserted into the opening. In one modification of the invention, the shackle contains indicia along the entire length, so that if the shackle is cut to allow access to the protected container, and the cut ends then re-fused together the obliteration of indicia gives evidence of tampering.
