ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a device for monitoring a component in a fluid mixture comprising a tube, the bore of which is divided in two chambers, at a distance substantially mid-way along its length by a disc of solid electrolyte having a conducting ion related to the component to be monitored, the tube being provided with heating means on either side of the disc whereby to provide the disc with even heat resulting in equal temperature on either side of the disc, and the disc being provided with electrodes on its opposed faces.
