ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a new process for the preparation of certain 2-amino- and 2-benzoylamino-benzylamine derivatives possessing valuable physiological properties in particular an antiussive, secretolytic an/or respiration stimulating effect. The new process comprises the reaction of the corresponding 2-amino- or 2-benzoylamino-benzylammonium or benzylpyridinium compound with an appropriate amine and the optional subsequent conversion of the compound thus prepared into an acid addition salt thereof. The new process is exemplified.
