ABSTRACT A method for removing H2S and CO2 from a natural gas stream involves the employment of a dried cellulose ester membrane having a permeability for H2S and CO2 of at least 10-8. A gas permeation process may also be used to produce a CO2 rich stream from gas in gas reservoirs which contain a large amount of CO2. The produced rich CO2 stream may then be used in flooding processes for enchanced oil recovery.
