ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for the production of hollow finished objects from a strip of plastic material by heat moulding at a moulding station. The strip is heated then fed to the moulding station. At least one object is heat moulded and the moulded object is cut from the strip at the station. The mould is opened but only a distance sufficient to allow further feeding of the strip upon completion of the heat moulding and cutting steps. The strip is fed further so that the portion of the strip from which the object was removed is out of the moulding station and a further heated portion of the strip is in the moulding station. The further feeding step commences as soon as the mould is open. A portion of the mould containing the moulded object is moved out of the moulding station and a similar portion of the mould is moved into the moulding station simultaneously with the further feeding step. The heat moulding and cutting steps are repeated to from at least one further object upon completion of the further feeding step. The first object is removed from the portion of the mould after the expiration of a predetermined stabilization period. That period begins with the completion of the heat moulding step and ends during the repeating step. The stabilization period is longer than the cycle time, the latter being the time from the beginning of the heat moulding of one object to the beginning of heat moulding the next object.
