WORK LOAD REGULATION IN A DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM Abstract of the Disclosure: An arrangement is disclosed for measuring and regulat- ing the work load of a computer. In this system, the occupancy level or work load of the computer is periodically measured by determining the free time of the processor during timed intervals. The intervals are independent of the program repetition rate. The time intervals are chosen to have a short enough duration to produce prompt action between designated time limits. - 1 -
