ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a rotation control mechanism for a diaphragm operating ring in an interchangeable objective including a mount support ring adapted for rotatably supporting the diaphragm operating ring which is provided with a rotatable range for diaphragm preset and a position for automatic diaphragm regulation so that the diaphragm may be manually preset within said rotatable range for diaphragm preset and automatically re- gulated by an exposure control mechanism in the camera body at said position for automatic diaphragm regulation, wherein said diaphragm operating ring is provided in the inner peripheral surface with a locking groove; said mount support ring carries a leaf spring as rotation arresting member adapted to bear against one of side walls circumferentially defining said lock- ing groove and thereby to arrest further rotation of the diaphragm operating ring toward the position for automatic diaphragm regu- lation when said diaphragm operating ring occupies one rotational end of the rotatable range for diaphragm preset and another leaf spring as rotation arresting member adapted to bear against the other side wall circumferentially defining said locking groove and thereby to arrest further rotation of the diaphragm operat- ing ring toward said rotational end of the rotatable range for diaphragm preset, these leaf springs being spaced from each other in the direction of the optical axis; and said diaphragm ring is further provided with a single unlocking member adapted to be engaged with said two rotation arresting members and thereby to forcibly displace them out of the locking groove.
