ABSTRACT An interdental immobilization device consisting of a two part fixture; namely, nut and a longitudinal deformable shaft with a helical portion at the end that transforms into a smooth cylindrical portion that terminates into a pointed tip. The nut is preferably made of nylon and formed as a truncated cone with an aperture extending from its base through the apex of the cone. The aperture preferably is a smooth bore but may be stepped so as to have a major bore communicating with the apex of the truncated cone, and a minor bore extending through the nut to the base. The diameter of the major bore is sized preferably to the exterior diameter of the helical thread while the minor bore is sized to the minimum diameter of the helical thread. This allows the nut to self-tap and thread onto the threaded portion of the shaft. Preferably the diameter of the stainless steel shaft is 0.025" to 0.032".
