The present invention is a heat transfer sheet comprising a substrate sheet and a dye carrying layer formed on one surface of said substrate sheet, characterized in that the dye included in said dye carrying layer is represented by the following formula (I): (I) Image wherein each of X1 and X2 represents hydrogen, an alkyl group, alkoxy group, acylamino group, aminocarbonyl group or a halogen; R1 represents a substituent selected from hydrogen, one or more alkyl groups, alkoxy groups, halogens, hydroxyl groups, amino groups, alkylamino groups, acylamino groups, sulfonylamino groups, aryl groups, arylalkyl groups or nitro groups; R4 represents a substituent selected from one or more alkyl groups, alkoxy groups, halogens, hydroxyl groups, amino groups, alkylamino groups, acylamino groups, sulfonylamino groups, aminocarbonyl groups, aryl groups, arylalkyl groups or nitro groups; and each of R2 and R3 represents an alkyl group or a substituted alkyl group.
