ABSTRACT Aqueous polyurethane dispersions useful as coating compositions wherein the polyurethane comprises the reaction product of an isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer containing carboxylic acid salt groups formed by reacting a polyisocyanate component containing at least 1% by weight of diphenylmethane-2,4'-diisocyanate, and an active hydrogen containing component containing a polyol and a carboxy group containing diol or triol, and an active hydrogen containing chain extender.
