A PNEUMATIC TIRE Abstract A heavy duty radial truck tire has a ground contacting tread portion, a belt reinforcement and elastomeric wedges located between the edge margins of the belt reinforcement and the radial carcass. In the crown region of the tire the tread portion is concentric with the carcass ply over an area of between 0.75 to 0.85 of the treadwidth. The belt reinforcement extends beyond the crown area, and the wedges which are very thin, have a thickness of between 0.1 and 0.2 of the maximum thickness between the carcass ply and the edge of the tread.
