ABSTRACT: An apparatus, in particular a recording and/or playback apparatus, is provided with a drive system (31) and a component (91) which is rotatable by said system and with a device (108) for switching the drive system (31) when the component (91) is stationary. The device (108) comprises actuating element (93), which is con- nected to the component (91) via a friction coupling, and which comprises at least one cam (94;95), along which a lever (60) slides during operation, which lever is pivot- ally connected to an eccentric mechanism (51), which is continuously driven by the drive system (31) during opera- tion. The lever performs a reciprocating swinging movement, during which movement an actuating portion (87) of the lever, when the component (91) rotates, follows a first path owing to a torque exerted by the actuating element (93). When the component (91) is stationary, the actuating portion of the lever follows a second path in the absence of the torque. guide element (76) is provided, which guides the lever in the first or the second path of the portion during the swinging movement, the actuating portion of the lever switching a drive system (85) in a second path only.
