ABSTRACT The pressure accumulator comprises a cylindrical housing having a bore with a piston received slidably therein. The piston has an H-shaped cross section and a longitudinal opening extending from one side of the piston to grooves at the other end thereof. The grooves receive a ring which is subjected to fluid pressure transmitted through the longitudinal opening and expanded radially outwardly against an angled portion of a force-transmitting member which moves longitudinally against seals disposed in one of the grooves. The housing has an exterior circumferential groove with an o-ring therein, and a radial opening extending between the circumferential groove and the housing bore.
