ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A manure discharge apparatus comprises a pivotable plate reciprocatingly driven by a hydraulic cylinder, the plate being movable along a convergent discharge duct with a sloping wall forming a decreasing cross-sectional area in the duct towards a discharge portion. A leading edge of the plate glides along one wall of the duct and the plate is pivotally mounted adjacent an opposite wall of the duct so as to form decreasing acute angles with the walls during advance of the plate along the duct.
