Abstract Method of making protective caps for threaded pipe ends or pipe sockets and protective cap made by said method For making protective caps consisting of thermoplastic plastic and provided with reinforcing material, and also having large diameter, for threaded pipe ends or pipe sockets, a method is made available which permits low weight, high elastic and plastic deformability and reuse and dimensional stability during the manufacture in that a heated plastic profile is wound helically overlapping onto a mandrel and is provided with reinforcing material during the winding.
