SURGICAL FASTENER MADE FROM GLYCOLIDE-RICH POLYMER BLENDS Abstract of the Disclosure A surgical fastener which comprises a blend of at least two polymers. One of the polymers is polyglycolide homopolymer or a copolymer containing at least about 90 weight per cent polymerized glycolide. The other of the polymers is polylactide homopolymer or a copolymer containing at least about 85 weight per cent polymerized lactide. The overall blend contains from about 65 to about 85 weight per cent polymerized glycolide, the remainder being polymerized lactide. The fastener which comprises the blend is non-palpable after six to ten weeks in vivo.
