169/36 ABSTRACT A portable apparatus to enable rapid determination of an individual's ABO blood group and Rh blood type and a method of using such appratus. The apparatus has a plurality of microtubes joined together which contain blood taken from an individual. The assembly of microtubes is connected during use to an assembly of reaction chambers containing predispensed blood typing re- agents. The apparatus enables rapid visualization of the test reactions within the reaction chambers, and may be used in loca- tions removed from a laboratory to determine the ABO blood group and Rh blood type of an individual.
