A B S T R A C T The invention provides a device for introducing pulverized materials into a carrier gas stream. The device comprises a box (10) with a side aperture communicating with a tank for pulverulent substances in which the pressure is above that of the propulsion fluid. Said box (10) contains two coaxial sleeves (16, 18), the inner sleeve having an axial bore (20) to give passage to the propulsion fluid, at least one sleeve being movable about its longitudinal axis (0) and connected for this purpose to a suitable entrainment device, each of the sleeves (16, 18) being provided with a slit (30, 32) on a level with the side aperture (24) of the box (10), so that these slits can overlap or mask each other as a rotation of the movable sleeve, thus defining a passage, wider or narrower as the case may be, between the tank containing the pulverulent substances and the propulsion fluid passing through the inner sleeve.
