ABSTRACT New substituted alkanethiocarboxylic acid deriva- tives of the formula Image (I) in which A represents nitrogen or a CH grouping, x1 represents hydrogen, triflouromethyl or chlorine, x2 and x3 independently of one another repre- sent hydrogen, triflouromethyl or chlorine, R1 represents hydrogen or methyl and R2 represents hydrogen or optionally substitu- ted radicals from the series comprising alkyl, alkanyl, alkinyl, aryl, aralkyl, aralkoxyalkyl and cycloalkyl, and a process for the preparation of the novel compounds and their use as herbicides.
