CONVEYOR CHAIN AND SUPPORTING BRACKET ASSEMBLY ABSTRACT An assembly consisting of a conveyor chain link (10; 10A) having sides (18, 19) and ends (20, 21) de- fining an open center (22), a supporting bracket (12; 12A) having an attachment portion (26) which engages the sides (18, 19) of the link (10; 10A) and interlocks longi- tudinally and transversely within the center (22) of the link (10; 10A), a clamp member (38; 38A) engaging the sides (18, 19) of the link (10; 10A) opposite to the bracket (12; 12A), and a fastener (42-44) engaging the bracket (12; 12A) and clamp member (38; 38A) and extend- ing through the center (22) of the link (10; 10A). The clamp member (38; 38A) is interlocked with the link (10; 10A) and the bracket (12; 12A) by lugs (40, 41) pro- jecting into the center (22) of the link (10; 10A) and has tabs (49, 50) deformable into interlocking engage- ment with the fastener (44) after assembly.
