Abstract The present invention relates to spherical polymer organo- siloxane-ammonia compounds with a basic structure similar to silicic acid of units Image (I) wherein R11 and R12 stand for a group (II) Image wherein R5 is an alkylene group and the oxygen atoms are saturated by silicon atoms of additional groups (II), optionally with the incorporation of cross-linking agents, R3 has the value of R1 and R2 or stand for hydrogen, an alkyl, cycloalkyl or the benzyl group, R4 is hydrogen or an alkyl, cycloalkyl or a benzyl, allyl, propargyl, chlorethyl, hydroxyethyl or chlorpropyl group, X stands for a 1 to 3-valency anion of a protonic acid that forms stable salts with amine bases, and x can be a number from 1 to 3. Further objects of the invention are a process for the production of the compounds in spherical form and the use of these products as ion exchangers or to remove metal anions from solutions.
