ABSTRACT A composition for the hygiene and health of the periodontal tissue of gums and teeth, in the form of paste, gel or other suitable form, comprises a mixture of fluorine- containing salts having a concentration of fluoride ion between 200 mg and 2000 mg per 100 g of composition, i.e. between 2000 and 20000 ppm, and a concentration of fluoride ion preferably between 250 and 1000 mg per 100 g of composi- tion, i.e. between 2500 and 10000 ppm, of xylitol at a concen- tration of 5 to 50% by wt. of the final composition, and preferably between 10 and 25%, in admixture with a suitable excipient.
