TITLE OF THE INVENTION: NOVEL GLYCOPROTEIN ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Disclosed herein is a glycoprotein having molecular weight of 5,000 to 300,000 as determined by ultracentrifugal method; the weight ratio of protein moiety thereof determined by Lowry-Folin's method to saccharide moiety thereof determined by phenol - sulfuric acid method of in the range of 50/50 to 80/20; amino acid at N-end thereof consisting essentially of tyrosine, leucine or alanine; leucine-phenylalanine-valine as amino acid sequence at C-end thereof; the elementary composition consisting essentially of 35.2 to 49.3% of C, 4.8 to 8.0% of H, 4.3 to 12.3% of N, trace to 2.5% of S, trace to 1.2% of P and the balance of O; the isoelectric point of in the range of pH 2.5 to 5.0; and nucleic acid as a component. The novel glycoprotein has anti-tumour activity and a lectin-like activity.
