ABSTRACT An answer supervision method comprising establishing a software threshold for each channel of a predetermined number of channels, storing the software thresholds, analyzing cadences of pulse code modulated (PCM) signals in each of the channels without reporting results, detecting a predetermined signal, detecting the duration of the predetermined signal, verifying a predetermined duration of silence after the duration of said predetermined signal, sampling the pulse code modulated signals, detecting the presence or absence of a predetermined tone of thed sample pulse code modulated signal using the software thresholds, continuously analyzing the sample pulse code modulated signals to detect tone cadences or present of voice, and resetting to analyze cadences of pulse code modulated signals in each of the channels without reporting results.
