Abstract In a hydrostatic steering device, the steering motor (6) is controlled by a steering valve (4). When limiting position sensors (27, 28) respond, operating elements are activated which suppress the exertion of pressure on the steering motor (6). These operating elements are formed by a locking apparatus (24) which mechanically stops the steering wheel (19) against further rotation. Consequently, when one limiting position sensor responds, the steering valve (4) goes to its neutral position (a), whereby further adjustment of the steering motor (6) is prevented. Fig. 1.
