ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A rail wheel has in one of its rim surfaces, preferably the inner one, a circumferential undercut groove. Vibration-damping elements are connected to the wheel by means of screws which either engage in the undercut groove via appropriately shaped heads, or are threaded into wedges lodged in the groove.
