ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A support shaft is disclosed for winding/unwinding sheets comprising a ring having the outer periphery thereof formed with a plurality of inclined grooves circumferentially spaced apart and with the bottoms of said inclined grooves inclined in the circumferential direction. Rollers are accommodated in respective inclined grooves for rolling in the longitudinal direction thereof to progressively increase the extent of projection therefrom with rotation of said ring. An outer ring is provided with a gap surrounding said ring with rollers.
