METHOD FOR THE RECOVERY OF LOW PURITY CARBON DIOXIDE Abstract of the Disclosure There is provided a method for the economic recovery of low purity carbon dioxide in the range of eight to twenty volume percent purity of an industrial gas waste stream, chimney flue gas or other contamina- tion gas source for the economical commercial resale of food grade carbon dioxide. The separation of the contaminating gas having a lower condensation temperature than that of carbon dioxide, comprising of compressing the contaminating gas containing a low purity volume percent of carbon dioxide to a pre- determined saturation temperature for the partial pressure of the carbon dioxide; than condensing the vaporous carbon dioxide out of the contamination gas by refrigerating the vaporous carbon dioxide below it's compressed saturation temperature downward to the triple point of carbon dioxide and all methods of reducing the process's utility costs by the expansion process, heat recovery and co-generation to produce economical food grade carbon dioxide for commercial resale.
