ABSTRACT In the in-register feeding of sheets on sheet-processing presses the sheets are aligned with the aid of a scanning means which is passed by the sheet edge which is to be aligned. During this movement of the sheets which is essentially perpendicular to the sheet edge which is to be aligned, a signal is generated and, depending on this signal, the sheet is moved by a specified distance into the in-register position.
