ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A wind-powered machine is provided in which a vane is driven through a vertical or horizontal arc with a back and forth motion, the motion of the vane serves to actuate a power generating mechanism, in the case where the vane moves in a vertical arc the actuation of the power generating mechanism can be achieved without any translation of the direction of the power transmission system; a governing mechanism serves to vary the response of the vane relative to the wind velocity. - 1 -
