CARBOXYLHYDROCARBYL-SUBSTITUTED SILICON COMPOUNDS ABSTRACT Silicon compounds containing one or more silicon-bonded, carboxyl-containing radicals are produced by a process which involves silylation of the carboxyl radicals of an unsaturated acid, hydrosilylation of the unsaturated portion of the unsaturated acid and hydrolysis of the resulting product. A preferred unsaturated acid is undecylenic acid. Carboxyldecyl-substituted silicon compounds of this invention have surprising substantivity to a metal substrate.
