ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An air bag for a motor vehicle is made of a synthetic fabric, particularly a polyamide, with an extremely tight weave, which is shrunk, heat set, and calendered at a temperature between 60 and 250° C, a pressure between 10 and 100 t, and a calendering speed between 5 and 25 m/min. The air-bag performs well after long periods of storage.
