(h) Abstract of Disclosure The instant invention is an epoxy resin curing agent based upon an epoxy novolac containing, on the average, between about 3 and about 7.5 epoxy groups per molecule, in which substantially all of the epoxide groups are reacted with a polyamine wherein each primary amine hydrogen in the resulting reaction product is further reacted with a monoepoxide or a monocarboxylic acid. The resulting epoxy resin curing agent may be used in a water based system for curing epoxide resins. The curing agent is rendered water soluble or water dispersible by salting with a conventional volatile monocarboxylic acid such as acetic, formic or propionic acid.
