ABSTRACT Apparatus which can be raised incrementally to form successively higher stages of a concrete wall is disclosed. The apparatus includes a slid- ing form which rests upon rails located on a work platform and is capable of being moved away from the newly formed concrete wall section to allow for cleaning and reapplication of parting agent to the form. The sliding form and work platform are supported by beams forming part of a scaffold which is anchored to the previously formed concrete wall section. Apparatus of this kind presently known in the art has numerous disadvantages which the present invention seeks to overcome. Hitherto, the form was moved along the support beams and openings had to be left in the platform to allow for the mounting of the form on the beams. Tools and other objects could fall through such openings. Furthermore, such apparatus without the rails of the present invention was limited to use on forming flat walls. The present invention overcomes these difficulties by providing rails within or on the work platform on which the form can slide away from the newly formed concrete wall. The rails are parallel with one another even though the support beams may diverge from one another in the case of apparatus for forming convexly curved walls.
