ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention describes new processes for the preparation of benzazepine-derivatives of general formula Image (I) namely the oxidation of a suitable benzazepine derivative with ruthenium tetroxide and the cyclization of a suitable ring-opened compound. The compounds of the general formula I show valuable pharmacological properties, especially a heart rate reducing effect.
