ABSTRACT Fibres hollow in the lengthwise direction serve as membranes for removing undesirable substances in liquids, for example, the blood, and are gathered to make bundles. The bundles are closed at end portions of the membranes, filled with liquid in their hollow interior and are set in a housing: a potting material is applied to the end portions, and subjected to centrifugal force, so that the ends of the hollow fibres are made into a suitable shape for flow of liquid.
